Government Affairs
AMI works to support policy discussions at the Legislative and Executive Branch.
Unprecedented economic challenges have brought a new level of Government involvement and oversight to the American economy.
At this crucial time, AMI works to support policy discussions at the Legislative and Executive Branch. This includes all aspects of the Government’s mortgage modification efforts to keep people in their homes as well as the health of the securitization system.
Frequently, AMI members or its Executive Director provide expert testimony before Congress on investors’ insights into maintaining a healthy market for private capital in the American housing market.
In addition, the Government Affairs Committee of AMI is often called upon by Washington D.C policymakers to provide expert guidance and insights on issues related to the mortgage securitization market.
